Testing with Beth
In person testing: I offer testing out of my home for private one on one testing, private family group, small group (2 - 6 students), and medium sized group (7 - 10 students) testing sessions.
At your location testing: If you have a group of five or more, a location within 20 miles of Canby, OR, I am open to coming to you!
What grades do you test? Most often 3rd through12th grades, but K-2nd tests are avaialable. The test used is the TerraNova 3, which on the approved test list for the Oregon Department of Education.
What subjects are tested? Reading, Language and Math. These three subjects are what is used to create a total National Percentile Score.
What score does my child need to pass? To "pass" in Oregon your child will need to be in the 13th percentile or higher. Passing for OSAA sports is in the 23rd percentile.
How long does the test take? I block three hours for testing. The order of an average test goes:
25min reading/stretch break 1min./25min. reading/5 - 10 min. break/30 min. Language/10-15 min. break/10 min. math with NO calculator/30 min. math Calculator is allowed for grades 3 through 12.
Private tests will usually be faster if the student is a quick reader and breaks are shorter. I have found that my older students like to keep going and get it done. But there is no rush!
NOTE: I work as an examiner for Basic Skills Assesment and Educational Services. After tests are complete they are sent to the Basic Skills office where they are scored. Their staff will send test results directly to testing families. It is your responsibility to hold on to test results. Basic skills does not guarantee that they will have test results after the year you have tested. I suggest scanning them as so you as you get them. I do not get a copy from Basic Skills.

3rd through 12th Grades:
Private test, one student - $115.00
Private family group, up to three students - $155.00
Semi-Private (2-6 Students) - $85.00 per student
Small Group (7 or more students) - $67.00 per student
3rd grade only - Materials fee of $10.00
Performance Evaluation Report (optional) - $15.00
